Dear Parents,

We would like to thank all of those parents who took the time to complete our SWALS questionnaire.

The information provided at the information session organised by the school on 16 January has been the first step in addressing the perceived deficit of information related to the situation of SWALS at the ESF. The objective of our survey was, on the one hand, to assess if indeed parents feel better informed (clearly they do!), and on the other, to collect and share individual opinions on various aspects of the general SWALS subject.

So far we have received replies from 30 families covering 36 pupils. It corresponds to 23% of all SWALS in the Pre-primary and Primary (16% and 26%, respectively). While this sample is certainly not representative, it already offers an initial picture. It confirms that the vast majority of parents are satisfied with the quality of MT teaching and with their initial decision to choose this course of education for their children. We hope that these preliminary results, both the answers to questions and the comments, can be helpful to those parents who are now facing this choice, hence our decision to publish the results.

At the same time we encourage those who have not yet replied to our questionnaire to do so, in order to get a fuller picture. This will give us a basis for further discussions with the school management and MT teachers on how to further improve the situation of SWALS.
