Dear Members,
The school's capacity is reaching a critical point. The school direction has pointed out that it will not be able to accomodate children it is legally required to admit.
This situation has been repeatedly discussed with the German authorities since 2008, with no results. The Board of the PA has therefore sent a letter to the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Ms. Angela Merkel, on October 18, 2013, alerting her to the situation and asking for support. The letter was introduced at the meeting of the school's administrative board on October 18.
Copies of the letter have been forwarded to:
Mr José Manuel Barroso, President of the European Commission
Prof. Johanna Wanka, Federal Minister for Education and Science
Mr Mario Draghi, President of the European Central Bank
Mr Peter Feldmann, Lord Mayor of the City of Frankfurt
Ms. Nicola Beer, Minister of Eductaion of the State of Hesse
Mr Kari Kivinen, Secretary-General of the European Schools
Mr Peter Friss, Director of the European School Frankfurt
You can download the letter in German and an unofficial translation.
