Dear Parents,
The ESF Parents Association, in cooperation with the Parents association of the Lycée Victor Hugo (UPEA), is pleased to invite you to the following conference:
Understanding eating disorders in children and adolescents – Causes, symptoms, treatment
Conference in French with simultaneous audio English translation
Thursday 4 April, 19.00 in the Aula of the Secondary School of the European School (see invitation attached):
Why do eating disorders develop in adolescence? How can parents and teachers identify children and teenagers who are suffering from these? What are the main symptoms of anorexia and bulimia? Why is it important to identify and treat children and teenagers as soon as possible? What treatments can help children to recover? Parents, teachers and students are kindly invited to a presentation by the French psychiatrist Pr. Maurice Corcos, head of the psychiatric unit for adolescent and young adults of the Institut Montsouris in Paris and Professor in the University Paris V - René Descartes. The Professor will introduce the subject of eating disorders in children and adolescents, with a particular focus on the possible causes of eating disorders, as well as on the symptoms of anorexia and bulimia. Information and contact details of specialised medical centres in Frankfurt will also be made available during the conference.
For organisational reasons, and in particular in order to reserve enough headphones for the simultaneous audio translation, we kindly invite you to register by no later than Friday 29 March, using the following link:
