50 000+ European School Alumni throughout the world
Since its inception in 1975, the European Commission is the Godfather to more than 50.000 pupils who have graduated from 14 European Schools with the European Baccalaureate. These alumni, all with very diverse backgrounds, have pursued a variety of careers. Some well known alumni include: The German Minister of Defence, Mrs. Ursula von der Leyen, Member of the Parliament, Boris Johnson, and the producer, Florian Henkel von Donnersmarck.
In 2012, a group of Alumni from Varese, Brussels, Luxemburg, Karlsruhe and Munich, “juniors” and “seniors”, established the ‘Alumni Europae’. Its goal is to bring together alumni from the European Schools who live in all corners of the world. The alumni share a deep-rooted sense of common values, many of which they acquired at school and which they have honed over time. At the Alumni Europae we share these values and a commitment for a United Europe. No matter where alumni find themselves in the world, they are “at home” with the Alumni Europae.
The Alumni Europae aims to support alumni in several areas:
- Inform prospective students interested in studying in a particular field
- “Welcome” alumni to a new city by providing a contact and some tips
- Build a professional network for the exchange of ideas
- Contact alumni as prospective employers
- Participate in alumni events such as cocktails, presentations or networking events
The Alumni Europae has grown to roughly 4.000 members and we soon hope to connect more people from the European School by attracting new members. Alumni Europae can be found at: www.alumnieuropae.org. To register go to: www.alumnieuropae.org/register/. We welcome pupils, parents and teachers. Welcome on board!
